Beatriz Raquel Jardim (b. 2002, Ilha da Madeira) works with photography, textiles and installation.
The artist investigates relationships of confession, exploring dynamics between power, glory and intimacy. In her work, fantasies of other livings are drawn. Identity, opulence and femininity intertwine with the real to construct narratives where the artist self-projects, reinvents and deconstructs issues of class and gender. She is drawn to an interrogation of glamorous obsessions. A globalized imposed desire that is fetichized by the current capitalist condition. In these other worlds, Jardim plays with the malleability of the defined, with an intention of exalting the imposed framework and reaching a dream that is self- published.
